Nesting?

Am I nesting? It is hard to tell. I’m 31 weeks now and I realize that I could have a baby in 6 weeks. That might not seem too soon but it is October 8th and I only have about 4 days with “nothing” scheduled left in October.   And by nothing, I am not counting taking my kids to and from school, food shopping, blogging and my daily housework.  Also, I might have another midwives appointment before the end of October. Then November, I will have a bunch of midwife appointments and I already have something going on about ten days already so that brings us to six weeks. The baby’s room is nowhere near ready and I still need to collet some baby things that I have gotten rid of. Oh my God…

So, this week I have been washing baby blankets, car seats, and the like.  I have started painting the babys room and going through the clothing we have. (Lots of blue things, hope it’s a boy or a girlie looking girl). And I have gotten a few things organized in the basement. This week we have started our birthing classes and have a tour at the hospital. Yes, I have been getting ready but have I been nesting?

Why is it hard for me to tell? Well, I am a bit anal about organizing and cleaning as it is. No, I can’t say I am a horrible neat freak because I have met others who are really nuts about keeping a clean house.  I like thing organized but I only wash my floor once a week.  Anyway, I am always doing things around the house like that and I do not like to procrastinate. Oh, I should mention that, I have also started putting things aside to pack for the hospital. I blame that on my mom.  She always waited til last minute when I was growing up and now as an adult I need to be done like yesterday.

The other big reason I can’t tell is because we just moved into our house about 6 weeks ago.  It has been a constant unpacking, rearranging, getting things together ever since.  We have finally gotten most everything in place for at least now and now I can deal with getting ready for the baby. Honestly, if we hadn’t moved, I probably would’ve had the baby’s room ready months ago and would be packed for the hospital already…yeah I have issues.

So, add all that together and I can’t tell if I am nesting or being practical and being myself. All I know is that I have 6-9 weeks and maybe up to 12 weeks before there is a baby in this house and i need to get ready!
